Although now an old Roman town, Alcudia was originally founded by the Greeks and Phoenicians in the 2nd Century BC. This lively modern resort is located on the North East coast of Mallorca and 62km from Palma airport. The old town of Alcudia is located 2 miles inland from the Port ‘Port de Alcudia' and maintains its old charm with narrow streets and original walls and gates first constructed by King Jamie I. You can enjoy a walking tour of Alcudia to learn more about the history of the town.
Alcudia nestles on the southern part of Puerto Pollensa while its port and holiday resort is at the western end of the beautiful bay which runs for over 8km through Playa de Muro to the resort of C'an Picafort. On sunny days the waters are turquoise and combined with the fine white sand this bay is described by locals as being akin to a Caribbean beach!
You can access Alcudia by taking the long coastal road from Puerto Pollensa, where you will often see many people wind surfing and jet skiing on this long stretch of beach. Full of holiday villas, this is a great area to come and enjoy a self-catering family holiday.
