Pollensa is a fantastic place for family holidays, with some blue flag beaches and plenty of activities around. The old Roman town of Pollensa is located 5km in land from the port of Pollensa, Puerto Pollensa, and between the two there are miles of countryside with an abundance of holiday villas. Most of our villas to rent boast beautiful mountain views and have a large amount of space with well maintained, mature gardens and private swimming pools. The villas are perfect for families wanting their own security and space whilst being close to amenities and activities. Pollensa is not only suitable for families but also for couples or groups and avid walkers. You can walk up the mountain to the famous and historical monument, Puig de Maria, where you can take in the local history as well as the breath taking views.
Each Sunday morning there is a local market in Pollensa square and on a Wednesday it is in Puerto Pollensa. They start at 10am and can go on until around 13:00, selling fresh fruit and vegetables, local fresh flowers and touristy holiday gifts. During these festivals you can dance, take in the atmosphere, soak up the local culture and enjoy fresh local cuisine. Pollensa is easily accessed from Palma airport and takes around 45 minutes to drive by car. There are plenty of car rental ports at the airport for convenience, or alternatively you may wish to rent one locally in Puerto Pollensa or Pollensa. Although a car is not necessary in Pollensa, we do highly recommend it so you can make the most of the local beaches and activities on offer. Whilst some of our villas in Pollensa are walking distance to the town centre, Puerto Pollensa and the local beaches will be best accessed by car.
Pollensa is home to many different restaurants, covering a wide variety of food from local Spanish cuisine to international Italian, English, Asian and more. With Puerto Pollensa originally being a fisherman's village it means there is a lot of freshly caught fish and seafood available in the restaurants, or alternatively if you do not want to eat out, there are plenty of large supermarkets in both towns.
