2020 was indeed a struggle with the unprecedented Covid 19 situation restricting actual travel as well as the desire to go to airports and take flights. Our phone lines remined open during the lock down and various tiers to maintain support and guidance for clients yet to travel.
We had to work on a case by case basis dealing with individual villa owners and clients and come to a solution that worked involving deferring dates to the following year, credit notes and refunds. 99% of clients that didn’t travel were happy with the end solution.
We were not holding clients to our cancellation policy in our terms and conditions and were flexibility and offering solutions in line with the current COVID situation and ever changing government travel guidelines.
For 2021 we will be operating the same as 2020 where by we will delay balance payments to offer more clarity on the situation at the time of your holiday.
We now have a traffic light system offering guidance, restrictions, requirements for entry and for when returning home for all countries. However this system is subject to changes and will be updated every 3 weeks. The next update is due on the 15th July 2021.
However these scheduled updates are only from the UK.
Entry requirements are subject to changes from the destination country and without notice. see below latest update from Portugal.
From today, Monday, June 28, anyone travelling from the UK to Portugal will need to show they are full vaccinated or face 14 days of self-isolation as the UK is now on the country’s red-list.
The order, No. 6326-A/2021 also states that people who are fully vaccinated don’t need to quarantine – but they have to present proof of their complete vaccination that was administered in the UK 14+ days prior to arriving in Portugal.
Children under 12 are an exception and children between 12 and 18 should only have to show a negative test and not subjected to quarantine but this isn’t confirmed yet.
