“One of the properties was chosen because it was supposed to be 700m from the beach and restaurants, this was ideal as our son had a knee injury, but the advertised walking distance would allow us to be able to walk and not drive to have a meal out if we desired (we accepted that our second Villa required a car to go anywhere and was chosen for its location as we know the area well) We were delighted with the villa itself as it was stunning and so was the view. The maid service was an added bonus which allowed me to enjoy a hassle free week. Our only disappointment was not being able to walk anywhere!”

The local management were most efficient and helpful with Karina spending time to go through tips on the area. We were especially grateful to the local management as we left a purse in the cupboard of the villa and they arranged to courier it to us at the airport. That sort of professional service in an emergency sets your company apart from the rest. We considered ourselves very fortunate! I must finally mention the views from the balcony of the house which are absolutely stunning, especially at night when the sunset view was just magnificent. The service provided before travelling was efficient, but we didn’t know what to expect on arriving at our villa. As the property details hadn’t mentioned much about the standard of accommodation we didn’t expect the interior to be ‘high spec’, and it wasn’t. But that didn’t affect our enjoyment in any way, as the property had all the essentials required, and due to the excellent weather we didn’t spend much time indoors. We found that the property was in a wonderful location with an incredible view. It was a joy to have breakfast and several evening meals at the table outside, overlooking the pool and the med. A few days were spent lazing around the pool, but when we dragged ourselves away we found the surrounding area had so much to offer with a fantastic variety of beaches. We went to Aigua Blava (twice), Sa Riera, Llafranc, and Tamariu. But visited our favourite, Sa Tuna, three times, for the great snorkelling followed by fantastic and very reasonable fresh fish at the small seafront restaurant Es Furio. We had a couple of nice meals in Tamariu at Es Dofi and in Begur, at Rostei and Can Torrades (the boat place), and lovely tapas on the square at the Aigua Clara tapas bar. We also sourced wonderful fish for the barbecue from that very busy fish shop, and great steaks from the butcher a few doors up. We had a truly enjoyable holiday, and were sorry to hear that this property is unlikely to be rented out next year as it is due to be refurbished and used solely by the owners. But we are certainly thinking about returning to this area once again next summer. Last year we had a disappointing holiday on a caravan site in the south of France, due to the poor standard of accommodation and service provided by Canvas holidays. This year was a stark contrast, and it is a pleasure to be able to complement you for your service. On our return, one of the first things we did was to return to your website to search for properties for next year, and to even look at the possibility of buying a property in the Begur area.
